Our Team

Dr. David Fisher is originally from Indiana, attended Indiana University in Bloomington, and graduated in 1993 with a chemistry degree. Later he attended Nova Southeastern College of Optometry, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1998.

Dr. Fisher received primary care training at Nova Southeastern University Eye Center Broward County Clinic including experience with refractive conditions, contact lens fitting/assessment, and general ocular disease. Specialty experience was obtained for contact lenses, low vision, binocular vision, and pediatrics through the Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade County clinics.

He received tertiary care experience at the Eye Centers of South Florida which emphasized glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, general retinal disease, ocular plastic surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, pre- and post-cataract surgery.

He is married to Dr. Holly Fisher with two daughters. He enjoys travel, tennis, basketball, and boating.

Dr. Holly Fisher is from upstate New York, went to SUNY Oswego, and graduated in 1993 with a BA in Chemistry. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree at SUNY College of Optometry, New York, New York. She gained tertiary care experience at the Capital Eye Consultants and Castle Point VA Hospital.

Primary care, contact lens, low vision services, binocular vision, and pediatrics training were done at the State University of New York College of Optometry. After Optometry School she completed a residency in primary care and ocular disease at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

She is married to Dr. David Fisher and has two daughters. She enjoys travel, family time, boating, and tennis.

Dr. Kate Lanier graduated with the highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in Biology and Psychology. In 2007, she graduated with honors from the University of Alabama School of Optometry. She completed primary care and ocular disease residency at the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. She obtained her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2008.

After residency, she joined Carolina Family Eye Care, advanced private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina where she practiced for five years until relocating to Cambridge, United Kingdom where she was involved in research, writing, and teaching at Anglia Ruskin University.

She has been a contributor for KMK Educational Services and Optometry Today. After moving to Florida, she joined Vision Source in the fall of 2016. When she is not seeing patients in the office, she is workinging with KMK Coaching to teach the next generation of optometrists.

On a personal note, Dr. Lanier is married with three children. She enjoys being involved in her church, River Oaks Church, running, and playing tennis.

Dr. Sallekh Shakya is an optometrist who was born in Nepal and grew up in the Central Florida area. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Sciences and minor in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida in 2015. She then went on to begin her optometric education at the Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale where she received her Doctorate in Optometry in 2020. She completed her residency in brain injury and vision rehabilitation at the University of Houston in Texas in 2021.

Dr. Shakya is proficient in all areas of optometry including; binocular vision, contact lenses, ocular disease, pediatrics, and primary care.

She enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Pooja Patel has worked with Vision Source practices since November 2014.

She is originally from Tullahoma, TN, and graduated from Tullahoma High School in 2015. Dr. Patel continued her education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She then completed her doctorate at Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Patel is proficient in all areas of optometry including Contact Lenses, Ocular Disease, Dry Eye Treatments, and Primary Care.

Personally, she enjoys spending time with her husband, going to the beach, and enjoying all Orlando has to offer.
